Overview

The Remote Settings feature enables remote control of the Receiver from an external device using AIDL (Android Interface Definition Language). AIDL facilitates communication between a client application and the Receiver service, allowing clients to update and retrieve various settings.

AIDL Files

There are two AIDL files that define the Remote Settings functionality:

1. IRemoteSettings.aidl: Sends messages to the service.
2. IRemoteSettingsCallback.aidl: Receives messages from the service.

IRemoteSettings.aidl

This interface provides methods to modify and retrieve receiver settings.

Set a String Value:

boolean setString**(**String key**,** String value**);**

• Sets a string setting for a given key.
• Returns ‘true’ if the operation is successful, otherwise ‘false’.

Get a String Value:

String getString**(**String key**);**

• Retrieves the string setting value for the specified key.

Set a Boolean Value:

boolean setBoolean**(**String key**,** boolean value**);**
